Works for Me: Cleaning Glass (coffee pots, pitchers, thermos)

My sister showed me a REALLY neat way to get the sticky condensed coffee residue off the bottom of a glass coffee pot, without any residual smell from harsher cleaning chemicals.

Into the room temperature coffee pot, throw a tablespoon or two of salt and about a dozen ice cubes. Start swirling. As the salt melts the ice it will be very easy to swirly, but yet abrasive enough to get all those little bits off.

It would also work for a glass pitcher or glass lined thermos. Works for me!

Thanks for visiting my website. Poutine does indeed sound like a heart attack on a plate. Might be worth trying, though. I adore fried chicken. Off to check out your recipes.

One of the blogs I read frequently, Rocks in My Dryer , is hosting a "five ingredients or less" carnival today as part of her weekly " Works for Me Wednesday ". This recipe is one that always results in requests for my recipe - which is great because it is SOOO simple! ingredients: 1 8oz block cream cheese 1 cup ranch dressing hot sauce 2 cups shredded cheddar, divided 1 can chicken, drained Mix together cream cheese, ranch dressing and hot sauce (to taste). These are SOOOO good, and they make your house smell like a Cinnabon while they are baking. (Cinnabon is, I'm quite certain, a registered trademark. I am not claiming these are the Cinnabon recipe. But two different people told me they were better) In the bread machine, run these ingredients on the dough setting (the second time I made these, I actually set the dough cycle to run right before going to bed, and didn't die because there was milk in the recipe.
